Why you got into EMS: Someone fell off a 3rd story building out in the woods above my house. They came to my house looking for help. I called East Burke Fast Squad and it took all night to carry her out of the woods with a fractured spine. I decided to join and take an EMT class.

Why you got into EMS: I was life guarding one day and had a little boy fall off the monkey bars in the park. I was called over to look at the boy / provide basic first aid. Obvious forearm fracture and he was with a baby sitter no older than Freshman in high school. We called 911 and Essex Rescue showed up. When the crew got out of the truck 5 people walked over to the scared little boy. After seeing this many people show up to one scared little boy I wondered how I could assist in the future.
